Candi received undergraduate degrees in Biology and Environmental Studies/geography from the University of Winnipeg and an M.Sc. in Zoology, specializing in Aquatic Toxicology, from the University of Manitoba. She’s taught university labs, worked a decade in Aquatic Environmental Consulting, ran a home-based business for 15 years, worked in public environmental education, has accumulated a reasonable amount and variety of highly educational volunteer hours and loves speaking on all issues pertaining to the environment to anyone who will listen! She is currently living out that passion by teaching Biology and Human Concerns and Human-Environmental Interactions at U of W, right back where she started.
The title of her talk is “Can we find freedom in a different lens? The need for a positive environmentalism.” Perhaps we need to change the way we look at things to achieve the kind of future our children deserve. .
